June 2019

Briarwood Wild Beauty continued to defy all expectations and received two tickets each for both Elementary and Medium at the Area Festivals. Ella and Charlotte have won every Medium test they have ever entered and we cannot wait to watch them in action at Alnwick Equestrian at the end of June.

May 2019

We were delighted to hear that both Briarwood Freude and Briarwood Reign of Fire have qualified for the Trailblazers Championships again this year.

Briarwood Firefly, with rider Robert Gilsenan, qualified for the Hickstead 5 Year Old Championship in July.

Last but not least, Davina's Escamillo colt made his appearance on her 17th birthday. Ludo may be small in stature, but he has paces and character to burn!

April 2019

Briarwood Wild Beauty and rider Charlotte travelled to Hartpury College for the Winter Championships. This was Ella's first experience of a big championships and also staying away from home, so it was a big question for her. She rose to the challenge and behaved perfectly, and we were delighted with her performance in the Novice Silver Music Final.

March 2019

Briarwood Notorious went to Myerscough Premier League with rider Greg Sim and came second in the BD Young Horse 4 Year Old Class, qualifiying for the semi finals in July.

February 2019

After a very tough few months, February brought success and huge pride for everyone at Briarwood Stud.

Briarwood Wild Beauty had qualified for three classes at the BD Regionals at Bishop Burton College. Due to the distance, this involved a road trip for Laura and one of our staunchest supporters, Michelle. Day one brought a fantastic 9th in a huge Preliminary class and 13th in the Novice Silver. We were delighted with Ella's behaviour and attitude both in the tests and the busy warm up arenas.

Day two brought the Novice Freestyle Silver class and we were so excited to watch Ella 'dance' to her Star Wars music. Ella and Charlotte surpassed all expectations and performed an excellent test, achieving a 70%+ score and becoming Regional Champions! We are so grateful to Charlotte and her family for loving this special little mare as much as we do, and for giving her the best start to her ridden career. Ella and Charlotte will now travel to Hartpury in April for the BD Winter Championships.

Briarwood Remembrance and Megan Pomphret travelled to the BD Regionals at Myerscough College, one week after Ella's success. This partnership has had a difficult road, one way or another, and we could not have been prouder of them for even getting to the competition. To our delight, Tilly and Meg came 6th in another large Preliminary class. What an extraordinary result for these two Briarwood mares, and former fieldmates. We are incredibly lucky to have our horses in such wonderful hands with their owners and riders.

January 2019

Sadly 2019 began tragically for Briarwood Stud, as Victoria Vribraldi lost her unborn Ferdeaux filly and became very ill. Thanks to the dedication of our vet Holly, Victoria overcame her illness and we hope she will remain in the Briarwood herd for many years to come.
