Flirtation Itself, or Flirty as she is known, is a dark bay Trakehner x Thoroughbred born in 2004. Her relaxed and friendly attitude, coupled with her good breeding make her an ideal broodmare. She was bred by Lucy Sheldrake at Delaroche Stud.

Holme Park Flute, her sire, is a son of Caprimond, and out of a mare bred by the renowned Holme Park stud. He is now a top sire in New Zealand, where he moved to when his owners emigrated. Her mother is an excellent broodmare, with her progeny achieving success in many disciplines.

Her first foal, a chestnut colt by the stallion Donnersohn (Donnerhall x Weltmeyer) was born in 2008 and sold to a successful dressage rider as a prospect for the future.

In 2009, she gave birth to a petite filly by the pony stallion Bernwode Brokat. Briarwood Bumblebee has inherited her mother’s enviable temperament, with everything seeming to come easily to her. Her paces are loose and athletic, and her fantastic temperament makes her an excellent dressage prospect. She is thriving with her owner Megan.

Flirty had a very important ‘job’ for 2011; she was a recipient mare for Deutsche Eiche. We chose Flirty to fulfil this role as she is a fantastic mother and her foals are all raised with impeccable manners.

To our delight, Flirty produced a stunning bay filly on May 1st 2011. A wonderful mother from day one, she proved to be a perfect recipient, raising Tilly to be a confident, friendly foal.

In May 2012, Flirty had a foal of her own by the Trakehner stallion Grafenstolz:  Briarwood Forget Me Not (Faith).

Flirty produced a full sibling to Faith in June 2013 and Briarwood Fast and Furious became the last foal to join the herd in this year. Sadly we lost Vinnie in June 2015.

Flirty sadly lost her unborn Hilkens Gold Card foal in March 2020, so we gave her the year off and were over the moon when she scanned in foal to him for a May 2022 foal. A stunning buckskin filly was born in May 2022.
